Picture Perfect Couple?
By: Brittany O'Bryant
Have you ever seen on Instagram or Facebook that “Picture Perfect Couple”? I have and at one point I was envy at those couples that seemed to have a “perfect” relationship. Over the years, I learned that there is no such thing as a perfect relationship. I’ve talked to couples who have been married for over thirty years and they can attest that their relationship was NEVER perfect. There are going to be highs and lows in every relationship. However, what makes a relationship stronger is respect and communication between two people who love each other. Sometimes you may even find yourself making a lot of sacrifices and compromises in the relationship to make your partner happy. I highly recommend getting to know your partner’s love language. Gary Chapman wrote a book on 5 love languages. The five love languages are:
Words of affirmation: Include verbal compliments and words of appreciation
Quality Time: Giving someone your undivided attention
Receiving Gifts: Giving gifts and or receiving gifts
Acts of Service: Doing things you know your spouse or partner would like to do
Physical Touch: Holding hands, kissing, and sexual intercourse

By determining your partner’s love language it can contribute to a long lasting relationship. Remember, no relationship is perfect and it takes time and effort to build successful relationships.
